3 persons stepped on mine in Agdam, one dead

On December 13, 2020, at around 17:00 one military serviceman of military unit #N of Ministry of Defence, residents of Agdam region Ahmadov Togrul born in 1984 and Mammadov Elcin born in 1990 stepped on an anti-personnel mine while being in the territory of Shahbulag village of the liberated Agdam region, APA reports citing the joint information of Prosecutor General’s office and Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the joint statement, as a result, Elchin Mammadov killed, military serviceman, and Toghrul Ahmadov got serious body injuries.
The incident site and corpse were immediately reviewed by prosecutors and police workers, judicial-medical expertise was determined, other necessary procedural measures were taken.
The prosecutor's office examined the scene and the body, a forensic medical examination was ordered, and other procedural actions were carried out.
On the fact, the prosecutor's office opened a criminal case under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code, the investigation was entrusted to the Investigation Department of the General Prosecutor's Office.
Currently, prosecutors and police officers are carrying out investigative and operational activities.
The Prosecutor General's Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs once again warn and ask the population, given the danger in the liberated from the occupied territories, not to visit these areas without the appropriate permission until the territories are completely cleared of mines and other explosives.
