Infectionist Yevgeny Timakov said that the coronavirus infection COVID-19 will be transmitted more after five to seven years, but will cause fewer complications, APA reports citing Ria Novosti.

According to him, all viruses, including the coronavirus, are constantly mutating.

“But in him (coronavirus - RT) these mutations are not so pronounced, not so significant in terms of changing his genome.

But they change the properties of the virus,” Timakov said.

He explained that "the virus must, in any case, survive in the external environment without killing its host."

“That is, over time, in five to seven years, the coronavirus infection will change in any case.

It will be more transmitted, it will be more contagious, but it will cause less complications, ”the infectious disease specialist said.

He added that now in the UK there is the same situation that the coronavirus is "70% more contactable", but there is no evidence that it is more severe.
