Remains of a medieval fortress were found at the top of the mountain near the mountainous village of Dizavar in Khizi, APA reports.
The monument was discovered by specialists of the Shabran regional office of the State Service for Protection, Development and Restoration of Cultural Heritage and the civic initiative group "Artifact Hunters".
Pottery samples of different colors were also found at the site. Work has begun to organize the state registration and protection of the monument.
State Service of Cultural Heritage Conservation, Development, and Rehabilitation under the Ministry of Culture will apply to the Institute of Archeology, Ethnography, and Anthropology of the National Academy of Sciences in connection with the new discovery.
