Baku City Prosecutor's Office told APA that Nasimi District Police Office has launched a criminal case on Criminal Code's articles 263.1 into the fact that “Toyota RAV-4” driven by Baku resident Gurban Mammadov hit parking guard Parviz Abbasov in Vagif avenue #9a on September 27, 2012.
Investigative actions have been carried out, witnesses interrogated, relevant expertise, including forensic examination and other proceedings conducted.
Mammadov faced charged under article 263.1 (Infringement of traffic rules and operation of vehicles causing serious harm to health of a victim) of the Criminal Code.
Abbasov said that Mammadov threatened him and his family members with death if he doesn’t change his testimony.
As Mammadov tried to change mechanism of investigation by giving contradictory testimonies, illegally influenced on Abbasov, didn’t attend hearings without any valid reason, he was sentenced to imprisonment.
The investigation is underway on the fact.
