"No country in the world can now replace the food supplies of Russia and Ukraine," said the director of the FAO office for relations with Russia, Oleg Kobyakov, his words are quoted by RIA Novosti, APA reports.

He recalled that Russia and Ukraine account for more than 30 percent of the world’s food supply and several dozen countries depend on them. “Disruptions in food supply and a sharp rise in food prices threaten crises in the national economy and civil unrest,” admitted the FAO representative.

Speaking of a potential replacement, Kobyakov mentioned India. Initially, the country was trading with a surplus of wheat, but then it became clear that there might not be enough grain for domestic consumption and restrictions had to be introduced. “Therefore, it is necessary to unblock Ukrainian exports,” he summed up.
