Breton: EU aiming to make up to 3M vaccine doses by 2022

The European Union is planning to manufacture up to three million COVID-19 vaccines per annum by the end of 2021, European Commissioner Thierry Breton told Corriere della Sera on Wednesday, APA reports citing Teletrader.

Member states need to implement inoculation policies quickly "because the capacity to produce doses is increasing from week to week," the official stated, adding that Brussels is also focused on the development of its vaccine distribution network.

Previously, a study by Public Health England showed that even a single jab of a COVID-19 vaccine can significantly cut hospitalizations and deaths.
