The newspaper writes that the Prosecutor General of Ukraine reported the suspicions to Bogdan Khmelnitsky, Deputy Head of the Public Procurement Department of the Ministry of Defense, and Vyacheslav Shapovalov, former Deputy Minister of Defense, after a scandal related to acquisitions in the department, APA reports citing News Unrolled.

The Prosecutor General’s Office reported the suspicion to Bohdan Khmelnitsky, Deputy Head of the Department of Public Procurement and Material Resources Supply of the Ministry of Defense, Vyacheslav Shapovalov, former Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, and Vyacheslav Shapovalov, former deputy state agency. Promoboronexport Volodymyr Tereshchenko.

Sources told Ukrayinska Pravda that Khmelnytsky was accused of embezzling more than 107 million hryvnia (about $2.8 million) and supplying 5,700 pieces of low-quality body armor to units of the Ukrainian armed forces. Shapovalov – in illegal acts in which individual units are not equipped with personal protective equipment worth more than one billion hryvnia (about $ 27 million). Tereshchenko – embezzlement of $1.3 million from the treasury through abuse and official forgery.
