The total assets of 31 banks in Azerbaijan as of December 31, 2017 amounted to 27 billion 921 million manat, total liabilities - 24 billion 211.8 million manats.
The balance capital of the banking sector reached 3 billion 709.2 million manats, APA-Economics reports quoting the Financial Markets Supervision Chamber.
The population's deposits in the banks of Azerbaijan amounted to 7 billion 542.5 million manats. In December of last year, the population's deposits increased by 2.7%.
As of December 31, 2017, there are 509 branches, 142 sub-branches, 2431 ATMs of 30 banks throughout the country. A total of 16,171 people are employed in the banking sector.
