President Ilham Aliyev reveals priorities for Azerbaijan during presidency in the NAM

"Entrusting the presidency to Azerbaijan is regarded as a support for our policy by the Non-Aligned Movement which unites most of the world countries, and I thank you for this decision" the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, İlham Aliyev said at the XVIII Summit of heads of members states and governments of the Non-Aligned Movement which is held in Baku.

President Ilham Aliyev emphasized that during its presidency in the Non-Aligned Movement, Azerbaijan will build its priorities and activities on the historical Bandung Principles: "The principles of Bandung, which include the principles of respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries, non-interference in the internal affairs of states, the protection of mutual interests and promoting cooperation, coincide with the basic principles of Azerbaijan's foreign policy. We must intensify our efforts to comply with the norms and principles of international law. In this regard, there is a great need for reform in the activity of the UN. Change of borders by force, violation of territorial integrity of countries by using force, interference in internal affairs is inadmissible."

The Head of State emphasized that Azerbaijan during his presidency in the Non-Aligned Movement will make efforts to establish and develop a dialogue with other institutions and to expand the geography of cooperation.
