OSCE Secretary General: “We hope that positive dynamics will reinvigorate following Azerbaijani, Armenian FMs’ meeting in Bratislava”
- 31 October 2019
“As Lavrov said we observed positive dynamics on the negotiations since the last autumn. I would say here perhaps the negotiations slowed down relatively. However, we do hope that positive dynamics will reinvigorate after the meeting of Azerbaijani and Armenian foreign ministers planned to be held in Bratislava within the framework of the meeting of OSCE Council of Foreign Ministers” OSCE Secretary General Thomas Greminger said at press conference following the meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
“We observe with satisfaction that both sides continue to maintain a calm and stable situation. This is important for the safety of civilians and combatants on the line of contact,” OSCE Secretary General stated.
When it comes to the establishment of confidence-building measures between the sides, Secretary General said that certain steps are being taken in this regard: ”But steps that create trust, such as reciprocal visits of journalists, swamping the detainees have not been realized yet. I hope that these will also be realized in the future."
