Despite the number of passengers transported by regular route lines decreased by 60-70% during special quarantine regime, the number of busses departing daily has not been decreases, Baku Transport Agency told APA.

It was noted that carriers have been instructed to regulate intervals between busses, taking into consideration the existing epidemic situation.

“The goal is, first of all, to ensure the transportation of our citizens working in public and in life-saving facilities, as well as in other important services. However, we note with regret that some passengers leave their houses unnecessarily, not following the rules and recommendations of the special quarantine regime. As a result, passenger density is observed on buses in the morning and evening in some directions. This, as mentioned, poses a threat to the health of those whose activities are important to each of us and increases the risk of infection. The current situation makes necessary to impose additional restrictions on the activity of regular route lines. In this case, the operation of regular routes will be completely suspended and passenger transportation will be carried out only by express buses moving in certain directions. We once again ask citizens not to leave their homes unless absolutely necessary, as well as to follow the rules and recommendations implemented for their health and comfort,” Baku Transport Agency stated.
