"Besides the effects of global warming, the main reason for the fires remains the human factor. Negligence of some people for simple fire safety rules and irresponsible behavior lead to the occurrence of fires in forests, which are our national treasure, and damage to our forest stock, flora, and fauna, which has been formed for decades. So, all relevant institutions must act in a coordinated manner to prevent forest fires promptly," said the Minister of Emergency Situations, Colonel-General Kamaladdin Heydarov, at the meeting dedicated to the issues on fire safety in forests held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, APA reports.
