Kobe Bryant's 13-year-old daughter Gianna was also aboard the helicopter that crashed and killed all nine passengers, including the NBA legend, outside Los Angeles on Sunday, APA reports citing USA Today.

The person, who was granted anonymity because they were not authorized to speak about the matter, said Gianna and her father were en route to an AAU basketball game Sunday morning when the helicopter crashed.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash, which left all nine passengers dead, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva in news conference. The Sikorsky S-76 helicopter went down in Calabasas, California, a city about 30 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles.

Gianna, who was often referred to as "GiGi," was the second oldest of Bryant's four daughters, who range in age from 17 years to seven months old. Bryant had coached Gianna's AAU team out of his Mamba Sports Academy training facility in Thousand Oaks for the past two years.

In a 2018 appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," Bryant said Gianna had aspirations of one day playing in the WNBA.
