Monitoring regularly conducted in Azerbaijan’s print and electronic media revealed that some websites contain information that propagates religious discrimination and strife in the country, Gunduz Ismayilov, deputy chairman of the Azerbaijani State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations, told APA.
“Most of these websites are religious-oriented and managed by religious groups although they call themselves information resources. At different times, we appealed to law enforcement agencies in connection with these websites, and the necessary measures were taken,” he said.
Ismayilov stressed that most of these websites are managed from abroad. “This can be understood from their domains,” he added.
