Russia reports over 8,700 daily COVID-19 cases

Russia confirmed 8,780 COVID-19 cases over the past day, bringing the total case tally to 4,762,569, the anti-coronavirus crisis center told reporters on Sunday, APA reports citing TASS.

The growth rate stood at 0.19% in relative terms.

Some 2,526 COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Moscow, 701 in St. Petersburg, 611 in the Moscow Region, 235 in the Rostov Region, 192 in the Nizhny Novgorod Region and 188 in the Samara Region.

Currently, some 266,329 patients are undergoing treatment in Russia.

Some 7,540 COVID-19 patients recovered in Russia over the past day, and the total number of recoveries hit 4,388,008. The share of recovered patients remained at 92.1% of all those infected.

Russia confirmed 332 COVID-19 deaths over the past day versus 399 a day earlier and the total death toll hit 108,232. The number of deaths registered in the past 24 hours was the lowest over the past two weeks since April 12. The mortality rate remained at 2.27% in relative terms, the crisis center reported.
