Bayern Munich will enter the 2021/22 campaign without a familiar face overseeing the club, as Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is reportedly calling time on his 30-year stint as part of the club's boardroom staff, APA reports citing Irish mirror.

Originally taking up the position of club vice-president upon invitation in 1991, Rummenigge held that title for eleven years before he was officially appointed Chairman of Executive Board of the newly-constructed corporate football department of the club (FC Bayern München AG) in February 2002.

The role of FC Bayern München AG Chairman of Executive Board is officially to be "responsible for external relations, new media, board affairs and representing the holding company on national and international bodies."

Former Bayern and Germany goalkeeper Oliver Kahn is now poised to replace Rummenigge from the start of July.
