Azerbaijani peacekeepers in Afghanistan: "We will return safe and sound"

Turkish peacekeepers and Azerbaijani peacekeepers are guarding Hamid Karzai International Airport in Taliban hold-Kabul on a "one nation, two states" basis, APA reporta citing Anadolu.

Our military, together with Turkish security forces, is supporting helpless people at the airport.

Speaking to Anadolu, Azerbaijani serviceman Anar Babayev said, "We are currently serving in Afghanistan with our Turkish brothers. We are helping them."

Sakhavat Kazimov, another Azerbaijani serviceman who has been in Kabul for about a month, said they served in the same region as their Turkish counterparts. “I greet my family and the families of all the soldiers. Everything is OK. I hope we will return safe and sound."
