Number of mines and UXOs, detected by ANAMA in territories, liberated from occupation, revealed

"Azerbaijan liberated its territories from occupation during 44-days Patriotic War under the leadership of Supreme Commander-in-Chief. Unfortunately, these territories have been contamined with mines," said Head of Board of the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan Vugar Suleymanov, APA reports.

"4,369 ha area has been cleaned from mines and handed over from November until today, 10,469 unexploided ordnances (UXOs), 9,390 anti-personnel mines and 4,056 anti-tank mines have been detected. It is just results of operational measures, conducted by the ANAMA. In total, 15,178 ha area has been cleaned and given in use by all bodies. Works on 46 projects have been started so far, 22 of them have been completed and commissioned," said ANAMA Chairman.
