Ministry: Up to 200 criminals extradited to Azerbaijan over past 5 years

Up to 200 criminals were extradited to Azerbaijan over the past 5 years, the Ministry of Justice told APA.

The Ministry said that under the leadership of the President of the country Ilham Aliyev important measures are being taken in order to ensure stability, rule of law, and security, especially to prevent crime, Azerbaijan is one of the leading states in the world in the fight against organized crime and special importance is given in international cooperation in this field.

Ministry of Justice carries out effective cooperation with 33 countries of the world in bilateral legal agreements, multilateral conventions within Europe and the CIS, as well as more than 40 bilateral agreements with other countries on extradition, legal assistance in criminal matters and other fields.
