Al Qaeda demands to exchange hostages with imprisoned terrorists

New York–APA. Al Qaeda in Islamic Maghreb demanded to release its 20 imprisoned fighters in exchange with the six persons, including UN special representative Robert Fowler, taken hostage by the terrorists. The person, mediating in the negotiations said he was assured at the meeting with the Al Qaeda leaders that the hostages are alive. Robert Fowler and his assistant were kidnapped in December, 2008.
