Lithuanian and Azerbaijani Culture Ministers to conclude memorandum

Lithuanian Culture Minister Jonas Jucas and head of the International Relations and European Affairs Division Vida Graziene is visiting Baku, APA reports.
The visitors garlanded on the then Azerbaijani President Heydar Aliyev’s monument today. Mr.Graziene publicizing the aim of his visit told journalists Culture and Tourism Minister Abulfas Garayev initiated the invitation.
“My visit aims to participate in International Jazz Festival held in Baku and carry out debates on the expansion of cultural relations between the two countries,” he said.
Lithuanian Culture Minister stressing that he will visit everywhere in Baku said that he will get acquainted with Carpet Museum, Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Maiden Tower and Shirvanshahs’ Palace today in the framework of the visit. Deputy Culture and Tourism Minister Sevda Mammadaliyeva told journalists, a memorandum is expected to be concluded between Lithuanian and Azerbaijani Culture Ministers during visit.
“Carrying out mutual exchange between libraries, museums and theatres is intended in the document. There are a lot of beautiful libraries and museums in Lithuania. We intend to cooperate in the field of museum, library and theatre. Agreements will be concluded in these fields,” he said.
Lithuanian delegation visiting Azerbaijan till June 10 will participate in the concert of Aziza Mustafazadeh in Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre today in the framework of Baku International Jazz Festival. The visitors will meet with Azerbaijani Culture and Tourism Minister Abulfas Garayev and hold press conference on June 9. The delegation is also expected to participate in the concert of US jazz quartet. /APA/
