Taiwan accused China on Wednesday of targeting its government agencies and email accounts in hacker attacks, APA reports citing Teletrader.
"Chinese hacking groups have been infiltrating government agencies and their information service providers for a long time," the deputy director of the Taiwan Investigation Bureau’s Cyber Security Investigation Office, Liu Chia-zung, stated. "They were aiming to acquire important government documents and data," Liu added.
The Taiwanese official claimed that at least 10 government agencies and 6,000 email accounts were targeted by hacking groups linked to Beijing since 2018 and warned that "some government data might have been leaked."
