Azerbaijan plans to increase gas production by more than 30% in 2023

Today the 7th IEF-IGU Ministerial Gas Forum was held devoted to the subject "restoration of economic growth and towards Common Welfare: natural gas opportunities for a sustainable world", The Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan told APA Economics.

There was an exchange of views in the meeting organized in a virtual format hosted by the government of Malaysia about the role of natural gas in the developing markets, new perspectives in natural gas markets, energy policy that will serve sustainable future and support dynamic development in the gas markets of the world.

It was noted that in Azerbaijan, it is expected that forecasted 38 bln. cubic meters of gas will reach 50 bln. cubic meter, annual production from the Shah Deniz field, the main source of the Southern Gas Corridor, is expected to reach 18.7 billion cubic meters this year, 25,3 bln. cubic meters in 2023.

It was noted that so far, about 133 billion cubic meters of gas have been extracted from this field, and more than 88.6 billion cubic meters of gas have been exported.
