Country manager: TAP construction won’t have negative impact on environment

Ministry of the Environment, Land and Sea of Italy guarantees that TAP construction will not have negative impact on environment, said TAP's country manager for Italy, Michele Mario Elia.

 

According to him, modern technologies and standards are used in construction of the TAP: “These technologies and standards have also been used in construction of existing pipelines”.  

 

The manager added that TAP consortium has permission for conduction of construction works in Apulia region of Italy and closely cooperates with local authorities.

 

He also said that TAP will contribute to ensuring of energy security of Italy.

 

TAP’s shareholding is comprised of BP (20%), Southern Gas Corridor (20%), Snam (20%), Fluxys (19%), Enagás (16%) and Axpo (5%).
