Georgian MIA investigates coup attempt at demonstrations

Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs has launched criminal case on the Article “Organization for the purpose of violent change of the constitutional order or insurrection" in connection with the demonstrations on June 20-21, on the Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi, it was reported at a briefing held by the General Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia, APA’s local bureau reports.

Revealed that the General Prosecutor’s Office was conducting an intensive investigation and 60 people had still been interrogated.

Intensive investigations are continuing to identify cases of abuse of force during the crackdown on demonstrations.

On this occasion, 170 people were questioned, including journalists and the wounded.
