“The visit of US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to Armenia aims at gaining the support of Californian Armenians in the elections to be held in November of this year, and take advantage of anti-Russian mood emerged in Armenia,” Armenian political expert Karen Kocharyan said at the press conference held today, APA reports citing Sputnik Armenia.
According to the expert, Washington has always considered Armenian society pro-Russian, however, currently, taking advantage of the anti-Russian mood in Armenia, decided to take the initiative.
Kocharyan noted that after leaving Pelosi from Armenia, the situation on the border might deteriorate again. However, Armenian experts stated that new actors would not appear in the region. The expert called on the Armenian government to evaluate the situation soberly, consider the threat of the resumption of military operations and not violate the existing relations.
“If the strategic ally did not meet the hopes and did not behave as Turkiye behaves to Azerbaijan, it does not mean that all the previous relations should be destroyed,” the expert stressed.
