"The Soviet Union is an integral part of Russian history, those who do not regret its collapse have no heart, and those who want to restore it have no brain," says Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov citing Russian President, Vladimir Putin, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.

"This is the subject of a two-three-hour lecture. The more lecturers there are, the more different views there will be. I’d not like to be one of those lecturers. I can only say that the Soviet Union is an integral part of our history," said Peskov while responding to journalists’ question of what main lessons can be learned from the collapse of USSR.

Later, the Russian President's press secretary quoted Putin. "I want to remind you of Putin's words that those who do not regret the collapse of the Soviet Union have no heart, and those who want to restore it have no brain," the Kremlin spokesman concluded.

Note that December 30 marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the USSR.
