New president elected to All-Russian Azerbaijani Congress

Well-known public figure, candidate of medical sciences, professor Fazil Gurbanov has been elected president of the All-Russian Azerbaijani Congress.

 

Gurbanov was elected during the 4th meeting of the All-Russian Azerbaijani Congress in Moscow Dec. 28.

 

New members of the Central Council and Presidium of the Congress were also elected during the meeting.

 

The Presidium comprises 40 members and the Central Council – 160 members.

 

Mehraj Babayev, Vagif Bayramov, Elman Bayramov, Mikhail Gusman, Qod Nisanov, Alizaman Rahimov, Aleksandr Romashin, Tahir Salahov, Alasgar Taghiyev and Isgandar Khalilov were elected vice-speakers of the congress.

 

The Congress adopted an appeal to the presidents of Azerbaijan and Russia.
