Those who violate norms of official language may be fined up to AZN 1,000 in Azerbaijan

It is proposed to fine people who violate norms of the official language, APA reports.

This has been reflected in clause 533-1 of the Administrative Offences Code brought up for discussion at the meeting of the Azerbaijani Parliament held today.

Based on the draft law, for violation of norms of the official language in mass media outlets, internet-based information resources and advertisement carriers, the individuals will be fined the amount ranging between AZN 100-200, the senior officials – AZN 300-400, and the legal entities – AZN 500-1,000.

The draft law was put to vote at the plenary meeting and was adopted in the first reading.
