Azerbaijan’s losses in gas pipelines decreased slightly

In January-September of this year, the losses in gas pipelines in Azerbaijan made up 35,5 mln. Cubic meters which is fewer by 0,3% than annual comparison, APA-Economics reports citing the State Statistics Committee.

In the corresponding period of the previous year, the losses in the gas pipelines across the republic wereas 35,6 mln. cubic meters.

It should be noted that in January-September of this year, Azerbaijan transported 28,501.2 mln cubic meters of gas through main gas pipelines which is 12.1% more compared to the last year. 53,3% of gas transportation was carried out via the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum South Caucasus pipeline. The gas produced in the "Shahdeniz" gas-condensate field is exported via this pipeline. So that during the reporting period, 15,203,3 mln. cubic meters of gas were transported (an increase by 19,6% compared to the corresponding period of 2021) through this pipeline.

Recall that there was 48,4 mln. cubic meters of losses in gas pipelines in Azerbaijan in 2021, which is 11% less in annual comparison.

In the previous year 35 108,8 mln. cubic meters of gas was transported via main gas pipelines in Azerbaijan, which is up 18,6% in annual comparison. 50,2% of gas transportation was carried out via the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum South Caucasus pipeline. So that during the reporting period, 17 618 mln. cubic meters of gas were transported (an increase by 43,6% compared to 2020) through this pipeline.
