Germany adds 13,435 new COVID cases, 249 deaths

Germany's COVID-19 case tally grew by 13,435 over the past 24 hours, data from the Robert Koch Institute revealed on Wednesday, APA reports citing Teletrader.

During the same period, there were 249 fatalities attributed to the virus, with the country's death toll climbing to 73,905. Since the pandemic started, Germany has registered 2,594,764 coronavirus infections, the data showed.

The 7-day incident rate increased by more than 2 points, compared to the day prior, reaching 86.2, well above the 50.0-point threshold that the German government marked as a level at which COVID-19 restrictions can be somewhat eased.
