“A part of the 132-kilometer Azerbaijani-Iranian border remains uncontrolled due to the occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia. The territories occupied by Armenia are very fertile. Drugs are cultivated and therefore laboratories have been built in these territories,” deputy PM Ali Hasanov said at the 36th International Drug Enforcement Conference (IDEC), ONA reports.

According to the deputy PM, the documents related to these were submitted to the UN Office in Vienna. After that, a monitoring group was established, but Armenia prevented the visit of the UN monitoring group to occupied Azerbaijani lands.

A. Hasanov stated that the economic development in Azerbaijan led to an increase in freight traffic, and in this case, drug dealers try to use this.
