An event in support of Ukraine was organized by the embassies of France, Poland, and Lithuania in Baku, APA reports.
Representatives of the diplomatic corps of different countries in Azerbaijan, public figures, and journalists took part in the fundraising event.
Addressing the event, the French Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Zacharie Gross, thanked the Polish Embassy in Azerbaijan for the initiative.
The French diplomat said that today the Ukrainian people are in a great struggle.
"They are fighting for freedom, and the global community must stand by these people," said the French diplomat.
Then the Lithuanian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Egidijus Navikas, spoke.
"We have a saying in the European Union, the European team, and this event is an initiative of a small European team. The International Donors Conference is also being held in Warsaw today, ”the Lithuanian diplomat said.
Rafał Poborski, the Polish Ambassador to Azerbaijan, also addressed the event.
"Solidarity and empathy are important in this war. It is important to show solidarity with the Ukrainian people, who are facing terrible Russian aggression; to show empathy with the Ukrainian people who suffered in this war; to support them," said the Polish diplomat.
The Polish ambassador to Azerbaijan noted that this small event is a sign of solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
