Boxing tournaments of II European Games that starts today will be marked for record and debut, APA reports.
European Boxing Confederation reveals interesting facts about the tournament held in Minsk.
Tournament of male athletes will bear European Championship status as well and the winners will hold both titles.
317 athletes will participate at the tournament, 59 of them are female, 258 are male boxers. They are representatives of the record number of 44 countries.
Two countries – Luxemburg and Monaco will debut at the tournament of this level.
Azerbaijani National Team will be represented with 10 male and 1 female boxers.
First time in the history 1/32 finals matches will be held in 69 kg and 75 kg weight categories. 33 and 34 athletes will fight in these weight categories respectively.
