51 tomato and 37 apple production facilities allowed to export product to Russia

Relevant measures on completely eliminating restrictions applied on the export of tomato and apple products from the Republic of Azerbaijan to Russia are being continued jointly with the Food Safety Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan and relevant agencies, the Agency told APA.

Within the framework of negotiations conducted, necessary information on 275 tomatoes and 37 apple production and export facilities operating over the country was officially submitted by the Food Safety Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan to relevant agencies of the Russian Federation so far.

According to the information provided, to date, 51 tomato and 37 apple production facilities have been issued permits for the export of products.

Note that the export potential of the institutions which have been allowed to export apple to the Russian Federation makes up 88232 tons, and this is 131,8% amount of 66924 tons apples exported to Russia in 2020. At the same time, the export potential of the institutions which have been allowed to export tomato makes up 164558 tons, and this makes up 91,4% of 179956 tons of tomato exported to Russia during 2020.

Currently, the video-monitoring in the online regime is being continued in the greenhouses operating in the country with the participation of experts from the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision of the Russian Federation and AFSA. Additional information will be provided regarding the results of the conducted joint measures.
