WHO: Purpose of project is to help Azerbaijani government to in fight COVID-19

"Purpose of the project is to help fight of Azerbaijani government against COVID-19”, said Head of the WHO Azerbaijan Representative Office Hande Harmanci at the event held on initiative of the World Health Organization and support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, State Agency for Mandatory Medical Insurance, TABIB, and Ministry of Health on launch of REACT-C19 project in order to strengthen main abilities regarding preventive measures against COVID-19, APA reports.

H. Harmanci said increase of abilities in hospitals in Baku and regions will be supported for 3 months: “Each of four staffs, consisting of Azerbaijani doctors came from Turkey, includes specialists on prevention and control of infection, triage, management of infection cases and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). These specialists have received trainings at distinguished universities of Turkey, obtained practical experiences in mentioned fields and they have been instructed relevantly. The doctors have been brought by the plane, allocated by Azerbaijani government. At the same time, a website will be created in the direction of support to fight against COVID-19.”

Head of the WHO Azerbaijan Representative Office noted that the project really shows effective cooperation of Azerbaijani and Turkish governments: “The negotiations, which last for months in normal condition, have been conducted within a few days. The experience may be studied in the future.”
