Amount of aid sent by Azerbaijan to Türkiye in connection with earthquake unveiled

After the earthquake occurred on February 6 2023 in Turkiye, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, extended his condolences to the President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and said that Azerbaijan is ready to provide all possible assistance to Türkiye during this difficult moment, APA reports.

In accordance with the instruction of the head of state, in connection with the elimination of the consequences of the tragedy, large-scale assistance from Azerbaijan to Türkiye has been started.

From February 6 so far, 7 planes and 1 car convoy were sent from Azerbaijan to Türkiye.

1st plane left at 1:25 p.m. on February 6 and brought 168 personnel of the Ministry of Emergency Situations to the disaster zone.

2nd plane left at 5:25 p.m. on February 6, carrying 233 MES personnel and rescue equipment.

3rd plane left at 8:50 p.m. on February 6 and delivered 21 personnel of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and rescue equipment to Türkiye.

4th plane left at 09:40 on February 7 and took the medical staff of 41 people and 4 containers belonging to the mobile field hospital.

5th plane left at 14:00, on February 7 and took 3 containers for the field hospital and load for the provision of personnel of MES.

6th airplane left on February 8, at 01:00, and carried 4 personnel staff of the MES and food and humanitarian aid to ensure the personnel.

7th plane left on February 8, at 09:46, carrying 229 personnel of Azerbaijani MES, rescue equipment, and supply equipment for the personnel of the MES.

A convoy of 14 trucks, leaving at 01:00 on February 8, will deliver 29 personnel, 4 field kitchens, humanitarian aid, and security for the personnel of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Turkiye.

In general, since the time of the tragedy, 725 personnel of the MES have been sent to Turkiye. 34 of them are doctors and 7 technicians belong to the medical staff.

In addition to personnel and medical personnel involved in rescue operations, rescue equipment, generators, pumping stations, vehicles, as well as modular field hospitals, medical equipment, medicines, first aid kits, tents, bedding, etc., as well as includes humanitarian aid for the affected population.
