Azerbaijan’s Food Safety Agency: Imports of poultry products from 70 countries restricted

“The number of countries currently banned from bringing poultry products to Azerbaijan due to bird flu has been announced,” Galib Abdulaliyev, Head of the Animal Health Department of the Food Safety Agency, Chief State Veterinary Inspector of the Republic Galib Abduleliyev said, APA reports.

According to the head of the department, the number of countries that restriction applied to various diseases differs.

“For example, due to bird flu, there are currently restrictions on the import of poultry products from 70 countries. However, there are names of various regions, but not entire country. Restrictions apply to the area where the disease is detected, within 10 kilometers. The term of the restrictions is regulated in accordance with the information of World Organization for Animal Health and can last 3-12 months.”
