Ilham Aliyev: SGC is implemented as a result of loyalty of companies to the work

SGC is implemented as a result of loyalty of companies to the work, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said at the 4th Ministerial Meeting of the Southern Gas Corridor (SGC) Advisory Council.

Stressing significance of close cooperation with the companies attending the meeting, the head of state said that the leading financial institutions make their contributions to the SGC. He emphasized that realization of large-scale projects shows that a powerful and effective team has been set up and increase international cooperation.

‘Creation of the SGC Advisory Council is aimed at coordination of our efforts and implementation of this project is one of the strategic purposes of Azerbaijan’, the president added.

The head of state noted that this project makes long-term contribution to human capital and creation of infrastructure. Speaking about works on the project done so far, the president said that 2017 was a significant year in the implementation of the project.

Saying that this project contributes to economic development and regional cooperation, the head of state noted that it also supports projects on transportation of energy reserves.

Noting significance of agreement on TANAP construction signed in Istanbul, the president said that the economic benefit of this project is important for all participating countries.

Speaking about economic achievements, the president expressed his assurance that such projects will benefit all countries and invited the participants to the fifth meeting to be held next year.

The head of state highlighted importance of extension of agreement on ACG oil fields up to 2050.

The president noted that successful projects introduce Azerbaijan to the international community as a reliable partner and Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum prove it.
