Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office (CMO) Allahshukur Pashazade said Thursday that the CMO has returned the 1,700ha area it owned in Azerbaijan’s Shabran district.
He said the land was given to a group of Meskhetian Turks who had been exiled from Uzbekistan.
“As they knew and trust me, I appealed to Heydar Aliyev about their problem. That’s when the land was allocated. So the refugees were settled there. Their problems are solved now. And I don’t need the land, either. So we gave it to the state ourselves,” Pashazade added.
