"After temporary suspension of the education process at the education institutions in order prevent the dangerous situation that could be created by the coronavirus infection an unknown person disseminated a voice recording on the "WhatsApp" instant messaging network calling on private tutors to be cautious. It is claimed in the voice recording that as if the police officers detained the pupils attending a private tutor and after interrogating them headed to the tutor’s home and fined the tutor in the amount of AZN 2,800 for his tutoring activity that allegedly is temporarily prohibited due to infection threat", said in a statement Ehsan Zahidov, head of press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, APA reports.
He said the disseminated voice messages are completely groundless and fictitious claims: "As you know, based on the Order of the Cabinet of Ministers, the teaching process has been suspended for the period of March 10-27 in order to continue the medical and prophylactic and other preventative measures at all education institutions situated on the country’s territory and to prevent the growth of the number of cases of contracting the coronavirus infection. This has no any relevance to restriction of teachers’ tutoring activity. Therefore the claim that the police applies penalties to the teachers engaged in this type of activity does not reflect the truth and is nothing but a mere rumor".
The necessary measures are being taken in regard to identification of the person of persons having disseminated that voice recording.
