“Economic development, large-scale social and economic reforms and hosting to important international events makes Azerbaijan to the model country in the region”, Vice-President of Turkey Fuat Oktay said at Azerbaijani-Turkish business forum held today APA reports.
F. Oktay said that Azerbaijan and Turkey with mutual activity makes a significant contribution to stability and development of the region as well: “In 2002-2018 the volume of trade turnover between two countries has increased by more than 8 times to stand at USD 3,2 bln, and according to another calculation has reached USD 3,4 bln. The export of Turkey to Azerbaijan in 2018 has increased by 8,7% in comparison to 2017. The import of Turkey from Azerbaijan has increased by 32% in 2018 in comparison to 2017, and has reached USD 1,8 bln.”
The Turkish Vice-President stated that the target for 2023 has also been announced by the presidents of two countries- Ilham Aliyev and Recep Tayyip Erdogan:” It is about trade turnover amounted to USD 15 bln. The decisions we made today show that we are committed to developing our economic relations. ”
