A warning issued by the US State Department cited coronavirus and border tensions as a threat to terrorism.

It is noted that Azerbaijan has been facing the risk of terrorism for a long time.

The warning advises US citizens to avoid unnecessary travel to the Azerbaijani-Iranian border for this reason. Due to the recent operations, it is urged not to travel to the Karabakh region and surrounding areas.

It is said that the US government is unable to provide emergency assistance to US citizens in Karabakh and surrounding areas due to restricted access.

"Be careful on the roads near the Azerbaijani-Armenian border. Please note that some parts of the road may cross international borders without warning. Roads may be under the control of checkpoints or closed to travelers without warning, ”the warning said.
