A single state telecommunication operator is planned to be established in Azerbaijan, said President of the Azerbaijan Internet Forum Osman Gunduz, APA reports.
"It is planned to merge the state operators Aztelekom and Baktelecom within the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport (RINN) and create a single state telecommunications operator called Aztelekom," he said.
According to him, although it is possible to achieve more flexible and effective management by merging two state operators, forming a stronger state operator may also pose risks to competition in the sector
