The trial of Armenian militants Ludvik Mkrtichovich and Khosrovyan Alyosha Aramaisovich, who tortured Azerbaijani hostages and committed other crimes during the First Karabakh War, has been continued, APA reports.

The accused person Ludvik Mkrtichyan responded to the questions at the trial held in the administrative building of the Yasamal District Court of Baku Military Court chaired by judge Elbay Allahverdiyev.

He noted that he was in the village of Aghdere in Karabakh in 1993, but there was no war then: “I stayed there for a month. Then I was in Hadrut. I was treated then. I arrived at Sugovushan in 1994. A projectile fell near us while drilling a trench, I got a contusion. I was in an Armenian armed group at that time. Armenia created the armed group. I arrived in Karabakh voluntarily with the group. There was a war, we were doing what we were told. After battles, I left Armenia for abroad. Ludvik Mkrtichyan noted that he also participated in April battles voluntarily: “I joined April battles voluntarily with the line of organization, financed by Armenians living abroad. I came to Hadrut with those, who I did not know, in October 2020 and joined defense here. I knew Hadrut was Azerbaijani territory, Armenians were living there.”

The accused person said he was detained on October 20 in the village of Hadrut, which he doesn’t know the name. "We retreated and hid in the woods. Our commander disappeared, I did not know where he was going. There were 120 soldiers there. We hid in the woods. We stopped on the ground like a well. After dark, we started walking towards the mountains. In the morning, I was captured by the Azerbaijani army."

In response to the judge's question, he said that he was awarded 5 medals for his participation in the fights.

In the end, Ludvik Mkrtichyan apologized to Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijani people for what they did.

During the trial, Alyosha Khosrovyan told the prosecutor that he was on the border between the two countries during the First Karabakh War: "At that time, I was there as a civilian. I had a small child, I went to war to earn money. I apologize to the Azerbaijani people and everyone."

The victim, Famil Aliyev, said that the accused lied during the trial, adding that Ludvik Mkrtichyan and Alyosha Khosrovyan were members of the Armenian military unit after the end of the war and tortured Azerbaijani prisoners: “In May 1995, the Armenians suffered heavy losses in the battle, and their bodies were brought to Shusha prison. Mkrtichyan was also there. Then we were brutally beaten. In June, there was a wedding of an Armenian officer in Shusha, which he attended as a soldier. They were called "ASALA" by Armenians. They are considered respected servicemen for torturing Azerbaijanis.”

The victim, Javid Hussein, said that Ludvik Mkrtichyan and Alyosha Khosrovyan took part in the process of removing his eyes in Shusha prison on March 21, 1995. "When Garik took out my eyes, Mkrtichyan and Khosrovyan tied my hands to the wall and tortured."

In the process, the examination of documents has passed.

The trial will continue on July 14.
