Release of Afghan Naghiyev from prison for home arrest officially confirmed

The former deputy head of the State Border Service (SBS), lieutenant-general Afghan Naghiyev has been released from prison for home arrest, APA reports.

The Baku Military Court has delivered a decision in this regard.

This fact has been confirmed by the Press Service of the General Prosecutor’s Office to APA.

Note that A. Naghiyev and senior officials of the Coast Guard Service were detained as a result of the operational measures implemented by the State Security Service and the General Prosecutor’s Office. The charge was raised against the accused persons on the grounds of the clauses 308 (exceeding official authorities), 311.3 (taking massive amount of bribe) of the Criminal Code.
