Flash floods kill 11 people in western Uganda

At least 11 people have been killed by flash floods in the western district of Bundibugyo, APA reports citing Xinhua.

A spokesperson for Uganda Red Cross Society told Xinhua by telephone that the flash floods swept over 11 sub counties.

"The floods have affected people and killed so far 11 people. The 11 bodies have been retrieved," said the spokesperson.

The agency said the number of the dead and injured is expected to increase since the search and rescue is continuing.
