Space Agency of Azerbaijan-Azercosmos which operates under the Digital Development and Transport Ministry and the Geology and Geophysics Institute of the Ministry of Education inked MoU on mutual cooperation, APA-Economics reports citing Ministry.
According to the MoU, conducting research for the purpose of discovering mineral deposits in the de-occupied territories using satellite data and assessing seismic risk in the country will be the main direction of the joint activity. The document also includes cooperation on monitoring of landslide areas based on satellite images and geological data, assessment of main water reservoirs, and underground water resources, and preparation of proposals for efficient use of water. At the same time, joint action is planned in the direction of creating innovative products using satellite images.
