US coronavirus death toll tops 4,000

According to Johns Hopkins University, the United States has registered more than 189,000 cases of the novel coronavirus, with over 4,000 deaths, APA reports citing Sputnik.

On Tuesday, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warned that the world could face the most challenging crisis since World War II. 

The World Health Organization (WHO) on 11 March declared an outbreak of the new coronavirus infection a pandemic. According to the latest WHO data, more than 754,000 cases of COVID-19 have been registered worldwide, and over 36,000 people have died.
