Alabama church shooting leaves 2 dead, 1 Injured

Two people are dead and one was wounded when a suspect opened fire on a church potluck in Vestavia Hills, Alabama, APA reports citing Daily Beast.

Police said Thursday evening that the suspect was in custody and that two injured had been taken to hospitals from St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, the site of the shooting. One of the injured later died, police said.

“At approximately 6:22 PM Central Time the Vestavia Hills Police Department responded to Saint Stephen’s Episcopal Church located at 3775 Crosshaven Drive Vestavia Hills, AL on a call of an active shooter,” the Vestavia Hills Police Department said in a statement.

Multiple law enforcement agencies and fire departments responded to the scene. The VHPD confirms multiple people were shot. The suspect is in custody.
